A Note on the Archive
The Living Rosary Archives is a personal project dedicated to documenting rosaries, chaplets, devotional objects, materials, and the traditions that surround them.
This archive is maintained from a place of reverence, curiosity, and stewardship. While every effort is made to research materials carefully and consult reputable sources, the archive should not be considered an authoritative academic, ecclesiastical, or conservation institution.
Many devotional objects exist within living traditions, local histories, family collections, and regional practices that are not always fully documented. Dates, origins, material identifications, and historical interpretations may evolve as new information becomes available.
The articles and collection records presented here reflect the best understanding available at the time of writing and are intended to encourage appreciation, preservation, and further study.
When possible, sources are provided so readers may continue their own research.
The purpose of this archive is not to claim expertise over every object, but to participate in the ongoing work of remembering, preserving, and sharing the stories carried by these devotional artifacts.
If errors are discovered or additional information becomes available, thoughtful corrections and contributions are always welcome.
May these objects continue to bear witness to the prayers, hands, and histories that shaped them.
Olive Wood research
The following resources informed the Olive Wood Rosaries article series within The Living Rosary Archives. These sources were used to research olive wood as a material, its historical and devotional significance, Holy Land artisan traditions, stewardship concerns, and the study of rosaries as devotional objects.
